Australian fast-food giant just cut ties with major delivery platform
An Australian fast food giant has announced their departure from DoorDash, signing an exclusive partnership with rival Uber Eats.
Guzman y Gomez (GYG), one of Australia's most loved fast-food brands, will be leaving DoorDash at the end of February and will available only on Uber Eats from February 22.
The move is part of a multi-year delivery partnership which will make Uber Eats GYG's only third-party delivery platform in Australia it says.

DoorDash and Uber Eats have been have been battling over the past several months, with competition between the pair ramping up following the closure of Menu Log in November 2025.
The competition between the pair has seen Coles sign an exclusive partnership with Uber Eats which kicked off early this year.
Woolworths moved from Uber Eats to DoorDash from January.
Coles and GYG will be exclusive to Uber Eats, while Woolworths, Aldi, and Costco will be exclusive to DoorDash.
Uber Eats is the market leader in the food delivery app space in Australia, however DoorDash is growing rapidly.
Uber Eats launched in Australia in April 2016, with Melbourne the first city to get the service, followed by Sydney in July 2016, expanding the on-demand food delivery service across the country.

It now operates in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Darwin, Canberra, and many regional locations.
DoorDash officially started in Australia in September 2019, launching in Melbourne before expanding across the country.
GYG launched in Australia in October 2006, opening its first restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Newtown.
It was founded by New Yorkers Steven Marks and Robert Hazan in Australia.

The pair say they created the brand to created to fill a gap in Australia for fresh, high-quality Mexican fast food.
GYG now has over 260 restaurants in Australia, Singapore, Japan, and the USA.
