These three grocery items were ordered the most by Aussies via DoorDash and Uber Eats in 2025

More than a third of all Aussie fast grocery deliveries via DoorDash include three key supermarket staples.

DoorDash told nine.com.au that Aussies placing grocery orders via their platform are mostly after fruit and vegetables, bread and milk.

42 per cent of DoorDash shoppers are selecting fresh fruit, 40 per cent are in need of more vegetables, 35 per cent are after some bread and one in three orders include milk.

The most popular fruits and vegetables selected are bananas, avocados, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, mandarins and potatoes.

When it comes to snack foods, a quarter of DoorDash customers are choosing chips. Five other essential items often included in DoorDash orders are roast chickens, water, coke, eggs and toilet paper.

The most popular times for fast grocery deliveries via DoorDash are Sunday afternoons and Wednesdays after work.

Uber Eats has also released their 2025 Cravings Report and found some very interesting customer grocery facts, including one shopper who ordered 70 bananas.

Zero-sugar soft drinks deliveries also boomed on Uber Eats this year.

Their NSW, ACT and TAS residents preferred ice cream and chocolate to satisfy their sweet cravings.

Choc-chip dough was the most popular ice-cream flavour ordered in QLD and WA.

VIC residents preferred classic vanilla, and SA locals chose cookies and cream.

The popularity of food delivery apps in Australia continues, despite the demise of Menulog which ceased operations in November.

Milk Run, operated by Woolworths, is also included in the fast grocery delivery category.

There have been some concern over grocery and meal mark ups as a result of fast delivery services.

Consumer group choice found supermarkets were charging up to 42 per cent more for grocery items ordered via DoorDash and Uber Eats in addition to delivery feels.

Both Costco and Aldi joined Coles on DoorDash earlier this year. Coles, Woolworths and IGA are all available via UberEats.

Gibson added that fast grocery delivery services can be an "absolute Godsend" but savvy shoppers should "probably avoid doing it all the time".
