Aldi Australia's social media pages have erupted into frenzied hunts for an exclusive chocolate release that is proving difficult to locate.

Cadbury Favourites Kiwi Edition have landed in Aldi stores in their Special Buys sections, and also in The Reject Shop.

But you may have already missed out, judging from the multiple social media posts in which shoppers have been trying to locate them to no avail.

New Zealand chocolates have built a cult-like following in Australia and this limited-edition release doesn't disappoint.

It contains Kiwi favourites including Perky Nanas, Chocolate Fish, Chew and Buzz alongside Cadbury chocolates already available in Australia including Caramilk, Dairy Milk, two varieties of Moro, Moro original and Moro Gold, and Caramello.

Aldi lovers have been travelling to multiple locations to try and find boxes of Cadbury Favourites Kiwi Edition, and sharing intel with each other to help in the hunt.

"Six boxes at Baulkham Hills 2153 store if anyone still looking (7.40pm Tuesday). Plus these others," one Aldi shopper shared on Facebook's Aldi Fans Australia page.

"Me too, Newcastle area. Went today to my local, as the stock checker said they were available last night. Nup," one fellow Facebooker reported.

"Apparently, Cadbury Kiwi Favorites can also be found at The Reject Shop," one Aussie shopper added.

"I have been trying to get them in Adelaide. Haven't seen in Brisbane yet."

I also attempted to located them, but fear I too have missed out.

I tried Aldi and The Reject Shop in Castle Hill, Aldi and The Reject Shop in Kellyville and Aldi at Baulkham Hills.

A spokesperson for Cadbury Australia told nine.com.au they could "definitely confirm that these are in-stock around the country".

And while they may have sold out for now, there are whispers more will be released between now and Christmas.

Cadbury Favourites Kiwi Edition cost $11.99 at Aldi and slightly less at The Reject Shop at $11.75, if you can find them.

For those who cannot wait, they can be ordered from New Zealand confectionary stores, however shipping seems to exceed the cost of the product itself.

So, we'll just have to wait for the next release.

One thing is for sure. Next time they land, they won't last for long. This time around they sold out in days!

An Aldi spokesperson tolld nine.com.au: "As the Cadbury Favourites Kiwi Edition was a Special Buys product, this was only around for a limited time in the middle aisle.

"This Special Buy sold out quickly across ALDI stores. It goes to show that you never know what treasures you'll find at ALDI and it always pays to grab them before they're gone!"

Despite Cadbury Favourites Kiwi Edition being released alongside both Aldi and The Reject Shop's Halloween ranges, we are pretty sure those lucky enough to locate them won't be handing them out to trick or treaters tonight.

We're pretty sure they'll be saving them for themselves. I know I would.
