Cadbury Australia has confirmed major changes to its Favourites range due to "soaring world cocoa prices and cost pressures".

Favourites are no longer available in a 520g pack. The popular chocolate range now comes in the following sizes: 265g for $14, 470g for $24, and a new limited-edition 549g Favourites Sports Games Tin which sells for $30.

The 520g pack, which was $24 before it was recently discontinued, has been replaced with the 470g version that now also costs $24.

"We have made the difficult decision to change the price and pack size of some of our products," Cadbury Australia told 9honey Kitchen.

"Cocoa prices have quadrupled in the past two-and-a-half years, and the price of other essential ingredients has also increased."

The price increases are in line with chocolate and coffee products over the past 12 months, with manufacturers trying to keep up with global price pressures.

The Cadbury Favourites Sports Games Tin is a new addition to the range.

Chocolate tins such as these have been made famous by Nestle's Quality Streets, with the empty containers famously being used as sewing kits, among many other uses.

Mars Wrigley also released its famous Celebrations chocolate in a round container similar to this earlier this year.

Cadbury Australia's decision to release Favourites in this nostalgic packaging design is paying off, with some supermarkets already selling out of them.

A Cadbury Australia spokesperson has told 9honey Kitchen it will be in stores from July until Christmas this year only.

Mars Wrigley, the makers of Celebrations, shared the news with 9honey Kitchen.
