Supermarket pizza is one of the most underrated grocery items of all time, yet most people love pizza; and we love it even more it costs as little as $4.50.
A couple of $4.50 pizzas, a salad, and a bit of sliced summer fruit, and you have yourself a perfect dinner.

There are over 30 toppings to choose from, and you can get thin crust, sourdough, gluten-free and even vegan. But who can go past a plain cheese pizza and maybe a Hawaiian or a meat lovers.
But it begs the question... which is the best?
We checked out a range of supermarket pizzas sold at Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Harris Farm Markets, IGA, and Costco and scoured locals for opinions on which is their favourite.

Aldi has approximately 20 pizzas, pizza slices, and pizza pockets that they sell across the country, but two are clear customer favourites.

"This pizza is insanely good," one fan commented on the 'Aldi Australia' Reddit thread.
"I had this for lunch today and it legit looks like the pizza on the box," another said.
"I hadn't seen this one before and it was there next to the black box margherita pizza, Preheated the oven with me pizza stone at max heat, got this bad boy done in there and holy shit. Blew my mullet clean off.
"Absolutely the best frozen pizza I've had," another Aldi shopper added.

Not only does this Aldi pizza come in a fun and distinctive box, it is reportedly one of the best supermarket pizzas of all time. It is famous! And often sells out.

International Cuisine Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza $5.99
Aldi's International Cuisine Thin Crust pizzas also get rave reviews.
While the pepperoni is a clear favourite, they also come in Angus Beef, Vegetarian, Funghi, Hawaiian, and Mozzarella.
These cost $5.99 each and being thin crust, they make for a much lighter meal but have plenty of flavour that packs a punch.

"The Angus beef one is really good," one said.
"Mushroom one is good. Used to love the cheese three pack but I'm sure they changed the recipe it's not as good," another said.
"My house loves the Pepperoni. The kids will eat a whole pizza themselves," added another.
Coles Kitchen Pepperoni Pizza from $7
Coles home brand Kitchen Pepperoni Pizza gets consistently good customer reviews thanks to its quality, value, and authentic, crispy stone-baked base.
They come in Pepperoni, Hawaiian, Chicken Kiev, Butter Chicken, BBQ Meat Lovers, BBQ Chicken and Bacon, and 3 Cheese Magherita.

As budget-friendly, convenient options go, they are pretty good, and the large variety of flavours means there are plenty of options to keep pizza night interesting in your home.

If you'd like a bit of an upgrade to pizza night, try the Coles Destination Italy Magherita pizza.
It's pricier than their other pizzas, but that's because you are getting a better quality and more authentic pizza dough that has a bit of stretch and chew to it.

And for those who prefer a stronger flavour to their pizza, you can try the Coles Destination Italy Mushroom & Truffle Woodfire Pizza.
Woolworth's 'It Takes Ten' Pizza $4.50
Woolworths home brand 'It Takes Ten' pizza range has also been given rave reviews by supermarket shoppers.

You can select from BBQ Meatlovers, Ham & Pineapple, or one of each for hungry families.
They are simple, affordable, traditional, and classic family crowd pleasers.
And I love how the topping goes almost all the way to the end of the crust, meaning most of each slice gets eaten, especially by fussy kids who usually leave the crust behind.
Dr Oetker Ristorante Range $9.50
The Dr Oetker Ristorante range of pizzas are sold and Coles and Woolworths and are designed for a restaurant-style experience at home.
They come in a over 27 varieties. The most popular toppings are Mozzarella, Speciale, and Spiniaci.

You can also find gluten-free and vegan options.
I find these have a good ration of cheese and toppings, at also 50/50 which is the ideal ratio as pizza toppings go.
One supermarket pizza lover commented on Reddit that they "only" eat Dr Oetker pizzas.
"Omg the Dr Oetker spinach. I chuck on a bunch of mushrooms and some red onion too, my favourite. I'd take it over Dominos any day," another said.
"I recently learned that the country that consumes the most Dr Oetker pizzas is Italy," one Redditor shared.
"Italian Australian here. While Nonna and Nonno will turn in their graves to hear it, if I ever have to go the frozen pizza this German brand is it," added another.

McCain Rustica Sourdough pizza $11
If you prefer a pizza that packs a flavour punch, this one is for you. The sourdough base has a delicious sourdough flavour and the toppings are epic.

I might choose a more basic supermarket pizza for the kids and something like this for me and my partner, so everyone is happy.
A Reddit thread discussing supermarket pizzas included more than a few positive review for these.
"McCain has these Rustica ones which are actually pretty nice. They're my top pick with Dr Oetker," one Redditor commented.

Costco 'Take and Bake' pizza $14.99
Costco pizzas are double the price of most supermarket pizzas, and double the size.
I usually cut them in half and serve half the day of purchase and save the other for later in the week.
I can't actually really fit one in my oven, so cutting them in half is a necessity.

They come in Five Cheeses, Chicken, and Meatlovers, and are well worth the trip to Costco and the price.
You can also freeze them for later use.
"Honestly, we love the pizzas that is how a pizza is meant to be made not over the top with the toppings," one Costco customer said.
Costco also sells pizza by the slice or as a whole cooked pizza at their food kiosks. These are equally popular with hungry customers and cost around $2.99 for a slice or $15.99 for a whole pizza.

IGA 'We Love Pizza' $11.99
IGA sells the most amazing range of pizzas called We Love Pizza, which are sold at most IGA outlets and independent food retailers.
Not only is the packaging extraordinarily cute, they are apparently delicious.
They are more expensive than most supermarket pizzas but you are paying for the size quality as well as the freshness.

Or you can choose a Community Co pizza for a more affordable IGA pizza option and they are still pretty good and cost approximately $5.60 depending on the location.
We Love Pizza toppings include Chicken & Bacon, Ultimate Meatlovers, Supreme, and 3 Cheeses.
Because they aren't frozen, you do need to check that they are fresh when you buy them, and if you aren't planning to use them that day, pop them in the freezer.
One fan commented on Reddit these are "normally thin based and really tasty" and they highly recommend them.

And an honourable mention goes to Harris Farm Markets pizzas which I wouldn't dare come home without.

Toppings include Vegetarian, Salami, Proscuitto, and gluten-free Magharita.
Once again, these are fresh pizzas so if you aren't going to use them that day, its best to freeze them.
"If you live near a Harris farm, they make really nice fresh pizzas, they're in vac bag and they freeze down/reheat quite well," one fan commented on Reddit.
