Aussie shoppers have spoken: This is the best frozen supermarket meat pie of 2026

The ultimate winter comfort food has a new reigning champion.

Aussie shoppers have voted for the best supermarket frozen meat pies in the country, and there's one well-known brand that took the top spot.

The winner is Patties, which has been given five stars when it comes to overall satisfaction by shoppers who have been surveyed by Canstar.

Patties, which is available in major supermarkets including Coles, Woolworths, and IGA, also picked up five stars for its distinctive blue packaging.

The brand was awarded four stars for taste, value for money, and variety and range.

Patties is a frozen food brand that sells a range of party pies, sausage rolls and pasties.

The brand's party pies come in a 24 pack as well as a party pie and sausage roll mixed pack.

Patties has been given five stars when it comes to overall satisfaction by Aussie shoppers.  Nine

In second place is Herbert Adams, which scored five stars for taste, four stars for overall satisfaction and variety and range, and three stars for packaging.

However, they are on the pricier side so were only awarded two stars for value for money.

For a more buget-friendly option, in third place is Aldi's Elmsbury pies, which were awarded five stars for value for money, four for overall satisfaction and packaging, three for taste, and two for variety and range.

Fourth place was taken out by Mrs Mac's, which scored four stars for taste, variety and range and packaging, and three for overall satisfaction and value for money.

Coles and Woolworths' home brand meat pies took out fifth and sixth positions.

Canstar Blue surveyed 593 Australians for their feedback on the frozen pie brands they've purchased and consumed in the last six months.

When it comes to frozen party foods, Coles took out the top spot for its Coles Vegetable Spring Rolls.

More Aussie shoppers are making the switch from fresh foods to frozen in a bid to save at the checkout.

Canstar reports shoppers can cut costs by more than 50 per cent on some products by doing this, and save up to $675 per year.

The most savings can be found by switching from fresh to frozen fruits and vegetables, particularly when these items are out of season.
