Flavour of new orange snake revealed after original replaced by Allen's
Prepare to have your mind blown - the orange flavoured lolly in the Allen's Snakes Alive packet isn't orange.
It used to be apricot but then Allen's discovered 50 per cent of fans chose that as their least preferred flavour and a whopping 84 per cent never even realised what flavour they were even eating.
So last month, the brand announced they'd be giving the humble orange snake a taste makeover.

Now, the first Aussies have been given a taste test of the new fruit flavour, aptly in Orange, NSW.
The new flavour is (drum roll please...) passionfruit.
That means the colours now translate to: red is strawberry, purple is blackberry, yellow is pineapple, green is lemon, and orange is passionfruit.
"Yeah, I can eat those," one woman on the streets of Orange said animatedly, while many others gave similar votes of confidence.

Players from the Sydney Swans AFL team had a guessing competition as they tried to pin down the right fruit, with many thinking the new flavour was mango or tropical.
Among those who have already taste tested it, the new passionfruit snake now ranks equal favourite alongside the red strawberry snake, according to Nestle.
"We know Aussies are passionate about great tasting lollies, so we're keen to bring them the most delicious bag of snakes," Nestlé head of marketing confectionery Melanie Chen said in a statement.
"We went on a mission to find the ultimate flavour for the orange snake and listened to lolly lovers who crowned passionfruit as their preferred flavour when tested against other orange snake flavours."
The new passionfruit flavoured snake will start rolling out as part of the Allen's Snakes Alive bag at supermarkets around the country from mid-April.
