Allen's lollies a staple on Aussie supermarket shelves, with a bag of Snakes Alive being a fan favourite.
But the brand has just announced a major change coming to the beloved treat.
And it has everything to do with the orange snake.

Aussies, you're about to get a brand new flavour. For most, this is good news.
According to Allen's, 50 per cent of Aussies say that the orange snake is their least preferred Snakes Alive flavour.
In fact, a whopping 84 per cent never even realised what flavour it is that they're actually tasting.

But, for those who haven't, we've got you.
Red is strawberry, purple is blackberry, yellow is pineapple, green is lemon, and orange is apricot.
Yes, you read that right. The orange snake is apricot flavoured.

"Wild I know! I can't. I can't!" said Aussie comedian and lolly enthusiast Tanya Hennessey when sharing the news to her social media.
So, to keep customers happy, Allen's has decided to change the flavour of the orange snake.
But rather than simply change the flavour and pop the packs back on shelves, the brand has decided to give lucky NSW locals the chance to taste the sweet before anyone else.
On March 1, those in and around the NSW town of Orange will be able to be one of the first to taste the new flavour.
At Robertson park from 10am to 1pm, Hennessey will be hosting the taste test and "can't wait to see what my fellow lolly lovers think" of the new flavour.
"While we can't yet reveal the flavour for the taste test, we have made sure that we've listened to our passionate fans," Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionery, Melanie Chen tells 9honey.

So if you want to be one of the first to try the brand new, secret flavour of the orange snake, Orange is where it's at.
Otherwise, you'll just have to wait until the new and improved Aussie treat hits supermarket shelves.
