Miley Cyrus and family hit the purple carpet for Hannah Montana Anniversary Special - but there's one glaring absence

It's the moment millions of nostalgic fans have been waiting years for.

Miley Cyrus has hit the purple carpet at the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, joined by her doting fiancé Maxx Morando and most of her family.

Everyone turned up in 2000s-themed outfits, with Cyrus, 33, wearing a white tee featuring a photo of her alter-ego Hannah and a body chain that fell into a glittery skirt.

She paired the look with her signature blonde hair and silver jewellery.

Alongisde her partner, the singer was joined by her mother, Tish, and her husband, Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell. The couple wed in 2023.

Miley's sister Brandi was also in attendance with her fiancé Matt South, as well as her new step-siblings, Lily-Rose Purcell and Joseph Purcell.

However, there were a few notable absences – namely her father Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley's younger sister, Noah Cyrus.

While Billy Ray does indeed feature in the anniversary special, he did not make an appearance on the purple carpet.

The father-daughter duo were estranged for a number of years before the pair made up last year.

Although it's not clear why he didn't attend, it might have something to do with the fact that Tish was there with her new husband.

Noah was also missing on the carpet, but she did share something on Instagram commemorating the special day.

Those who did attend were decked-out in glitter, tassels and Y2K-themed outfits.

Among the star-studded guestlist was Jojo Siwa, who wore a purple bedazzled basketball jersey.

Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper wore gold capri pants with tassels and a brown strapless shirt.

She paired the look with a thin gold scarf, similar to the iconic scarf Miley wore on the show.

Miley's mother Tish opted for a black shirt with jeans, while Brandi wore an all-black leather outfit.

Purcell wore a black t-shirt and jeans as he posed next to his wife.

Other guests included Jaden and Willow Smith, as well as old castmates Jason Earles and Moisés Arias.

Earles, who played Miley's brother Jackson, opted for a shirt that resembled his character's uniform from Rico's Surf Shop.

Arias, who played Rico, wore a purple shirt with the Hannah Montana logo on it.

Love on the Spectrum star Abbey Romeo wore a gorgeous red and orange dress, paired with matching sunglasses.

Olympic Rugby Player Ilona Maher also made the guest list, wearing a white set with a brown leather jacket.

She blew out her hair and wore a bold makeup look.

YouTube star Kaci Conder stood out in this corset look, styled to look like she was in the middle of taking off her dress on the carpet.

A red lace bra contrasted against the purple corset, with a dress pulled down into a skirt underneath.

She matched the look with Gucci heels.

Social Media star Tana Mogeau also channelled her inner Y2K with her look.

The satin and lace outfit was paired with a mini scarf, gold shoes and a gold handbag.

Her blonde hair was styled in waves to resemble the iconic Hannah Montana wig.

The purple carpet event is being held in Los Angeles ahead of the anniversary specials' release tonight.

For Aussie fans, it will air on Disney+ at 6pm tonight (AEDT).

The special is expected to revisit the old sets and costumes.

It will also include an interview with Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper, special guest appearances and performances.
