Florence Pugh puts on the pizzazz in jaw-dropping ‘naked’ dress
If there’s anyone we can consistently rely upon to curate red-carpet-halting ensembles, it’s the dynamic duo that is Florence Pugh and long-time stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray.
And if past looks weren’t enough to cement the Oscar nominee as a trendsetter, her latest take on the ‘naked’ dress trend surely will.

Stepping out in a surprise red carpet appearance for Taika Waititi’s latest project Klara and The Sun, starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams, Pugh was a spotlight-stealer in floral.
The Oscar-nominated actress posed on the red carpet alongside the film’s stars at the BFI London Film Festival in London.
Looking utterly radiant in Rodarte, a brand famous for its darkly whimsical, often gothic-leaning ambience, Pugh paired the gossamer gown with a soft glam look to give the dramatic silhouette its moment.

This piece leaned heavily into the romantic signature stylist Corbin-Murray has curated over the years, contrasting delicate hand-embroidered textures with bold, structural shapes.
Pugh’s appearances following the debut of sweeping period drama East of Eden – a new small-screen adaptation of John Steinbeck’s acclaimed novel of the same name – have largely kept to this concept.
While the star doesn’t shy away from darker, sharper ensembles a la Vivienne Westwood, she effortlessly staggers them with softer, more romantic looks.

And she isn’t particularly bothered about whether her red carpet appearances ruffle feathers, either.
Pugh is one of the leading figures of the red carpet “naked dress” movement, having previously received backlash for a nipple-bearing hot pink ensemble worn at the Valentino Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2022/2023 fashion show.
“Unfortunately, we’ve become so terrified of the human body that we can’t even look at my two little cute nipples behind fabric in a way that isn’t sexual,” Pugh said in an interview with Elle UK at the time.
More recently, Pugh sent shockwaves through the East of Eden premiere event in perhaps her most daring look to date.
The star wore a colour notoriously difficult to pull off – chartreuse – paired with a plunging neckline with apparent ease.
An absolute masterclass in method dressing, the nod to 19th-century romanticism featured an acidic bodice with structural boning detail, and black bejewelled embellishment glittering across the corset.

The vibrant bodice then spilled down into a draping pale gunmetal silk skirt, an exercise in sculptural proportion courtesy of Vivienne Westwood.
