Daisy Edgar-Jones puts a sparkling spin on the ‘naked dress’ at Sydney premiere
Hollywood’s favourite red carpet trend, the ‘naked dress’, has made a splash in Sydney, courtesy of Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The English actress and her Sense and Sensibility co-star Esme Miles-Creed jetted Down Under for the film’s Australian premiere on Thursday night, putting on a stylish display at the Entertainment Quarter.

Edgar-Jones – who plays Elinor Dashwood in the new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel – continued the romantic, ethereal fashion we’ve seen from her throughout the press tour.
The star emerged in a sheer Miu Miu ensemble that sparkled under the lights.
The custom design married a delicate floor-length slip with a sequin-covered corset – an aesthetic nod to the Regency period in which Sense and Sensibility is set.

Fine ribbon straps and clusters of diamond and sequin appliqués that continued all the way down the skirt to the floor completed the look.
As to be expected with a ‘naked’ dress, the sheer fabric offered a peek of the beige bodysuit the star wore underneath.
Edgar-Jones’ soft, flowy red carpet outfit contrasted with her on-screen sister’s suiting look.
Creed-Miles, who plays Marianne Dashwood, tucked a white button-down into a pair of sharp black and white pinstripe trousers, adding a spotted black and white tie and heels.

Method-dressing for movie press tours might be all the rage in Hollywood, but there’s one element of Regency dressing Creed-Miles won’t be embracing: bonnets.
“I had this ginormous bonnet [in the movie],” she toldToday Extra ahead of the premiere.
“It actually hindered [some scenes], they’d be like, ‘Cut! Can’t see Daisy, Esme, can you move? The bonnet’s in the way’.”
“It slightly upstaged me every time I was next to it,” Edgar-Jones quipped.
