Olivia Colman makes runway debut in leather-look at Paris Fashion Week
Oscar winner Olivia Colman has swapped her day job for the runway with a surprise appearance at Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer show at Paris Fashion Week.
For her runway debut the British actress turned heads in a sleek black leather pencil skirt and matching jacket, paired with a navy V-neck knit and slip-on, backless brown loafers.

The 52-year-old completed the chic look with her now long silver-grey hair – the result of extensions – secured in a low, loose ponytail.
Colman, who is known for her signature short hair, first debuted her longer tousled look at the premiere event for upcoming film Wicker, in which she stars alongside Alexander Skarsgård.
While the Miu Miu show was awash with bold colour choices, clashing patterns and contrasting textures from start-to-finish, Colman’s ensemble proved altogether more subdued – perhaps reflective of a more mature facet of the brand.
The looks designers opt to dress established actors in are often intended to be the signature or focal point of the show.
Despite featuring catwalk regulars the likes of Gigi Hadid, it was Colman’s effortless sophistication that proved the brand’s pivotal feature in Paris.
The star is no stranger to designer Miuccia Prada, having famously worn a custom emerald green Prada gown at the 2019 Academy Awards.
Colman’s silver-haired Miu Miu debut also marks a wider trend of brands utilising mature models, recently seen across runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
The world of high fashion has spoken – and it has proclaimed there’s nothing quite as elevated and intentional as reverting to natural locks.

Since Miu Miu was launched in 1993 as a playful offshoot of the Prada brand – it quickly established an unconventional practice of casting actors over traditional runway models.
As a result, unexpected catwalk cameos have gradually become a fashion week fixture.
Joining Colman on the Palais d’Iena runway were fellow actors, and Colman’s Pride & Prejudice co-star, Emma Corrin, Jamie Bell, Louisa Jacobson and newcomer Noah Jupe.
The front row was equally heavy on star power, with young talent the likes of Lili Reinhart, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Ella Bright and Maude Apatow also making an appearance.
