'Before you judge me this works': Mum reveals the slightly controversial way she gets her toddler to nap
It's safe to say that every parent would like to find a magic solution to get their kids to sleep without a fuss and it seems like one mum has found it.
Sharing a video on Instagram, mum-of-two Sam Previte revealed she's found something that works – despite knowing she's going to get judged for it.
She explained it falls into the category of 's--t they don't tell you' about being a parent and admitted that they pay their toddler to take naps.

"I pay my daughter to take naps," she said.
"Not the baby, the toddler… and before you judge me, this s--t works."
Previte explained that her daughter is very defiant, a "little miss independent" type.
"She decided that she doesn't want to nap at home on the weekends," she continued.
"She goes to school full time, naps for them like a princess, but I saw someone talking about the nap fairy."

She explained the nap fairy comes and brings a small coin, a penny, a nickel or a dime, just some money which gets left on the pillow while she's asleep.
"If she falls asleep she gets paid, if she doesn't fall asleep nap fairy can't come. Nap fairy only comes when those eyes get heavy and you rest your head on the pillow," she continued.
"Did I think I would be paying my toddler to take a nap? No, but she loves it.
Previte added that they got their daughter a little unicorn piggy bank for the coins and eventually they'll start teaching her about saving and how money works.
Controversial? Slightly… but does it also mean her toddler sleeps? Yes.

She asked her followers or people online to share their experience with napping in the comments and so many of them are keen to give the 'nap fairy' a try after seeing the clip.
"Wow! That's exactly what I'm going to try with my 3-year-old son. We struggle daily to make him nap, I'm really sick and tired of it," replied one mum.
Another mum commented, "Girl, I feel your pain. I'll do just about anything to get this toddler to take a damn nap. I'm going to try this. Thank you!!!"
Other parents just commented that this technique was "genius" and wondered if it would work on other things, like trying new foods.
And while the idea of bribery might not sit well with some people one mum commented, "I bribe my kids with muffins in the morning if they go to sleep so zeroooo judgement here."
