Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe reveals her son has been hospitalised after e-bike accident as she issues plea to parents

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is experiencing every parent's worst nightmare and wants it to be a warning to other parents.

Her 14-year-old son Skylar was hospitalised after an e-bike accident and shared the details of his injuries in a series of posts on her Instagram stories.

Zoe, 53, who fans might remember from her reality show The Rachel Zoe Project, issued a plea to parents about e-bikes; warning them of the dangers of the electric bikes which are increasingly popular at the moment.

"For any parent deciding if they should get a f--king E-BIKE for their child DO NOT," she wrote.

"I DID NOT and I am a hard no but Sky was on one and been in ER for 9 hours... whoever is being begged by a child to get one HARD NO," she said.

She went on to discuss his injuries, revealing her son had injured his kidney and she's devastated by the whole incident.

"Update: a badly lacerated kidney, a ton of pain and a shattered mum. Unable to laugh or sneeze and 100 tests later we are still here and I know how much worse this could have been," she wrote.

"But to all the parents about to cave on the e-bike do not. Sky will not be on one for as long as I have a say in his life, HARD NO."

She went on to thank staff and medical workers taking care of her son, and added: "Also thank you to the best doctors and nurses that do this miracle work 24:7 you are the heroes."

E-bikes are all the rage at the moment, but there are safety concerns for riders and pedestrians in Australia.

The news of her son's hospitalisation comes after Zoe announced that she and husband Rodger Berman were divorcing, after 26 years of marriage and 33 years together.

The pair share sons Skylar, and Kaius, 11.

"After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage," a statement read.

"We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together."

The pair went on to say that they will move forward by co-parenting and working together with their businesses.

"Our number one priority has been and will always be our children. We are committed to co-parent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share. We ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this new chapter."
