'When I tell you I ran': $14 Bunnings buy sparks a frenzy with parents

Bunnings has launched a popular children's product, sparking a frenzy with parents.

The discount hardware chain is selling Fountain Product Clam Shells in pastel colours, a fun change from the standard shades normally on offer. They are a bargain buy at $14.

Parents have taken to TikTok to share the find. Videos posted on the social media platform show the clam shells in beige, yellow and pink.

They are also still being sold in a vibrant blue.

"When I tell you I ran," TikTok content creator Stephania Cass shared.

"Omg use your [brain] and order one online," TikTok account Red Gum Villa stated.

Some users reported being unable to find the pastel shades online, so parents took to their local Bunnings stores to share locations where they are currently available.

"In stock at Bunnings Munno Para SA," one said.

"Nothing in Brisbane yet," another said.

"Tamworth have them," one TikToker commented.

"None at Fountain Gate Vic," added another.

Others visited two locations, with no luck.

"Where did you manage to find it?" one TikToker asked. "I tried two stores with no joy!"

"Sunbury has them I got one," another reported.

"Omg I was just calling around trying to find one this morning & no stores had it," one Bunnings shopper said.

Others had more luck.

"Made my partner race to our local Bunnings to get the pink one and I'm obsessed ... " another shared.

"I ran so fast to get a pastel pink one for my daughter earlier," added another.

One shopped reported back: "Ok so update: I went today to Moorabbin VIC 20/1 and none in stock as well as many other stores don't have them BUT only Mentone VIC store has all 3 pink, cream and yellow outside the entrance:-)."

"None in toowoomba, dalby or Warwick," another stated.

"Nothing brisbane north lady said they should be out within the next week or so," one TikToker said.

"Desperately hoping these come to NZ," added another.

While some parents use the clam shells as sand pits, they have many other uses including being used as shallow pools.

They can also be filled with plastic balls and other toys.
