Crown Princess Mary of Denmark stuns in tiara at royal event

Crown Princess Mary has worn a stunning tiara for a reception held in honour of King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway.

Princess Mary's Edwardian tiara is one of the most special pieces in her collection.

The Crown Princess previously wore the antique tiara for the 50th birthday celebrations of her husband Crown Prince Frederik, in 2018.

This week's reception was hosted by Queen Margrethe of Denmark, who spoke of the country's strong ties.

"It is a great pleasure for me to once again welcome Norway's King and Queen to Denmark. Strong ties bind our countries together," Queen Margrethe, 83, said.

"The bonds between our families are long and close, and our personal friendship has grown strongly over the many years we've known each other."

Her Majesty the Queen hosted a festive dinner this evening in honour of the Norwegian Royal Couple, who this morning began an official visit to Denmark.

Tomorrow their Majesties will continue their visit to Aarhus with the Crown Prince Couple.

Earlier in the week the Norwegian royals joined Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary at a business conference in Copenhagen.

Mary, 51, chose a floral skirt for a chic ensemble for the Danish summer during a recent visit to the Business Conference at the Confederation of Danish Industry in Copenhagen.

The 'sunray' skirt is by Paul & Joe and has been a staple item in her royal wardrobe for many years.

She teamed the ankle-length pleated skirt with a light blue blouse, creating a perfect look for the Danish summer.

Mary completed the look with a nude Chanel handbag, camel snakeskin heels and blue jewel drop earrings.

Her hair was shaped into lose waves and tucked behind her ear on one side.

She has previously worn the skirt on several occasions including during a visit to Vietnam in June, 2022.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark, 83, greeted King Harald and Queen Sonja as they took a royal ship to the Nordre Toldbod waterfront area in Copenhagen.

King Harald stumbled as he navigated the stairs to Queen Margrethe with the pair dissolving into laughter.
