Princess of Wales adorably interrupted by baby during visit to childcare centre

The Princess of Wales has been adorably interrupted by a baby during a recent visit to Riversley Park Children's Centre to meet with health professionals.

Princess Catherine, 41, was seated with new mums holding their babies while chatting with staff about the need for mums to receive proper support.

As she spoke, the royal was holding the hand of the baby seated to her right when the baby on the left let out a loud burp.

The baby's mum had been gently patting them on the back following a recent feeding.

The group broke into laughter with Catherine turning to the mum and bub on her left and saying: "Well done you!" to the relieved baby.

To the mum she said: "It's always really reassuring when you spend ages trying to get them to burp."

The video was posted on Twitter by Victoria Ward of The Telegraph UK.

The Princess of Wales visited the centre to discuss a pioneering study into infant well-being and social and emotional development.

The study was funded by her foundation - the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The health and wellness of children is a key theme of Catherine's public work on behalf of the royal family.

In recent years she has focused on early development and the important role of caretakers in the first few years of a child's life, launching the 'Shaping Us' campaign in January. She established the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021.

The Royal Foundation's website describes the 'Shaping Us' campaign as "a major new awareness-raising campaign to increase public understanding of the crucial importance of the first five years of a child's life."

The campaign hopes to transform "the issue from one of scientific interest to one of the most strategically important topics of our time," a statement says.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are parents to three children - Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.

She has joked in the past about wanting a fourth child.

During her solo royal tour in Denmark in February 2022, Catherine met with parents and their babies during a visit to the University of Copenhagen.

"It makes me very broody," she said, adding, "William always worries about me meeting under 1-year-olds. I come home saying, 'Let's have another one.'"
