Cricketer Pat Cummins and wife Becky share exciting family news

Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins and wife Becky have announced they are expecting their second child.

The couple shared the news with a series of Instagram photos.

"We are so happy to finally share our 👶🏼 news!" the couple writes. "We are so excited to meet you baby, and to add a little more craziness to our lives 😆."

The couple is already parents to son Albert, affectionately known as Albie.

In the first photo we see Becky kneeling on the grass next to her son Albert. The second photo shows Becky holding Albert who is looking down at her baby bump.

And the third photo Becky is proudly displaying her baby bump while Albert pulls faces at the camera.

Pat was 20 when he met then 22-year-old Becky at a bar at King's Cross. The couple has been together since 2013 and were engaged in 2020. After striking up conversation, the two went to McDonald's.

Being over from the UK on a visa, Becky wasn't aware of the cricketer's sporting status.

"The first couple of times I met Becky, I told her I was a uni student because, technically, I was. I left out the cricket part," Pat told The Age

"Then one day, a few weeks after we started dating, she walked past a KFC in the city, and on the front was me wearing a bucket hat."

"She reckons she did a double take and was like, 'Hang on, that's Pat'," he recalled.

After seven years of dating, the couple took their fairytale romance to the next level in 2020 with an engagement announcement to social media.

Becky shared the news to her Instagram page alongside an adorable selfie of the pair with wide smiles and a clear engagement glow.

"My forever person @patcummins30 💍💍" the interior designer wrote.

"I am the happiest girl in the world right now !!"

The pandemic delayed their wedding plans. Albert was born in October 2021 and the couple tied the knot in July 2022 in Byron Bay.

Earlier this year the couple were spotted in the royal box on day four of Wimbledon. At the time they were keeping their happy news under wraps until it was safe to share it.

Most couples wait until the 12-week scan to share pregnancy news.
