Charles and Camilla hand-deliver 100th birthday card to lucky recipient
King Charles III and Queen Camilla have hand-delivered one of the monarch's famous 100th birthday cards during a day out.
Charles, 76, and Camilla, 77, were in Middlesbrough in the UK for the day on February 13 when the visited a woman named Rona Grafton who was celebrating the milestone.
Royal reporter Rebecca English shared a video of the encounter on X (formerly Twitter).

English captioned the post: "Now that's Royal Male! What a hugely special moment as King Charles personally presents Rona Grafton with her centenary birthday card. She's 100 today!"
In the video, we see Charles handed Grafton the card which was sealed in an envelope and told her: "A very, very happy birthday."
Camilla added: "A very happy birthday."

When Charles asked when her actual birthday was she told him it was that day, prompting Charles to raise his hands and proclaim, "Today!"
Charles and Camilla also spent time greeting royal fans who had gathered earlier in the day.
The monarch pointedly ignored a line of signs being held by protesters that read, "Not my King!"

Official footage of the royal couple's visit to Middlesbrough has been shared on the royal family's official social media accounts, cleverly avoiding the protest signs.
Alongside a video of the visit, the caption: "What a wonderful welcome to Middlesbrough! 🤗👋 Before meeting so many kind people who turned out to show their support, The King and Queen visited the International Centre where they heard about a number of local community projects, including REPOD Doctors, an initiative supporting refugee medical practitioners as they train to transition into the NHS. "
The royal couple also visited The Junction Charity faith initiative 'Together Middlesbrough, Cleveland Police and young people from the Kings' Trust during a "knife crime community education workshop".

"At the end of the day, Their Majesties wished Rona Grafton a very happy 100th birthday today – and delivered some very special 'Royal Mail' 💌🎂🥳," the caption concluded.
The tradition of the British monarch sending out 100th birthday cards was started by King George V in 1917.
The late Queen Elizabeth II sent approximately 1.3 million cards during her reign, including for birthdays and anniversaries, across the UK and the Commonwealth.
Charles took over the tradition shortly after ascending the British throne, with the first round of birthday cards featuring a portrait of Charles and Camilla being printed and signed in September 2022.
The cards are typically sent in the mail, however, they are handed out personally from time to time.
