Bec Judd has spoken candidly about how challenging her pregnancy was with twins.

Sharing her experience on the Vain-ish podcast which she hosts alongside Jess Roberts, the Aussie TV personality admitted it was so difficult she decided to get her tubes tied through tubal ligation following her caesarean.

"Carrying the twins was really, really hard. I've obviously got a small frame and I already had two kids. By the end, I couldn't do anything," the 42-year-old explained.

"I couldn't bend over; I had to like to do a side split and a lunge. I was just lying on my side the last couple of weeks.

"I remember Chris would go to work and then I'd get up and I'd just be crying in the shower – and I'm not a crier – I'd just be holding my hands up on the wall, leaning, just bawling my eyes out, wanting to get these twins out. I was in so much pain."

Bec, who was 33 at the time of her pregnancy, recalled her husband unexpectedly coming home to find her in the shower crying, and she had to tell him that this was just what she did every day when he left for work.

The choice to have another baby – which turned out to be twins – happened on a whim during a holiday in New Zealand.

Bec and Chris welcomed their third and fourth kids, twins Tom and Darcy, in September 2016.

Bec said they had sex once and got pregnant straight away, but the night she believes it happened she had a nightmare and she feels like that was her body telling her it was different.

"I woke up the next morning, and said to Chris, 'I am a hundred per cent pregnant from that sex we had last night… and there's something off about it...'" she recalled.

"And yes, I was pregnant and I had two [babies], which is a blessing, and I wouldn't change it – it's the best thing ever – but my body knew straight away that this was different."

Bec said she "looked like an alien" and "was in so much pain" that she got to the point where she just wanted the twins out.

The twins, Tom and Darcy, who are now nine, were born at 35 weeks.

Bec knew that she wanted to get her tubes tied when the boys were born, but it was something she had to push for.

"The twins were a planned caesarean and I said, 'When you're in there, can you tie my tubes?', and he [the doctor] said we do a lot of tubal ligation after caesarean but at that age – I was 33 – we don't like to do it," she explained.

"Every time I went in for a check I said, 'You're tying my tubes. I am never having another baby again.'

Bec demanded that she be given the consent form when she went into labour and they did the procedure after delivering the boys.

"So, I had the babies and the hormones set in while I was in hospital and I cried for two weeks straight because I regretted it," she said.

Bec said she felt like she couldn't believe she had done that to her body, but it was also in the "crazy hormone" phase post-partum.

"I cried for two weeks, and I wanted to reverse it so badly, but once the hormones wore off it was the best f---ing thing I ever did!"
