An Australian woman who lost her phone at a festival two years ago has been reunited with the man who found it.

Cherie Jones was at the New Year's Eve festival In The Park in 2018 when a storm hit and the crowd dispersed. In the confusion Cherie lost her phone, which was handed into security and returned to her.

When she unlocked it she found a stranger had filmed a video on it. The man is wet and dressed in a black shirt, and says, "We have your phone. Don't worry." He then runs his hands through his dark hair and adds, "We'll hand it to security."

For whatever reason the man's video message had an impact on Cherie and she began a quest to find him, sharing a video on her TikTok account @vodkalimesoda.

In the video you see Cherie sitting on the floor with her hands covering her face. "Help me find the man who handed my phone into security after a storm at a festival," she says before playing the message left by the man.
