Family can't contain their horror over the colour dress a bride chooses for her big day

Karen Thomas arrived to see bridal legend David Emanuel with one thing in mind – to find a baby pink wedding dress to match her entirely pink-themed wedding in Cyprus.

And while she couldn't get the colour out of her mind, her family were horrified that she wouldn't just choose a classic ivory-coloured gown to walk down the aisle in.

In a recent episode of Say Yes To The Dress: UK, which you can watch for free on 9Now, Karen, 44, brought in her mother, mother-in-law and two bridesmaids to the fitting.

After Karen found a pretty pink gown on the rack, her friends couldn't help but air their disappointment on the choice.

"I think it's going to look gross," her maid of honour Jonie said.

Jonie clearly wasn't impressed with the choice of pink and vented to the camera, "It's going to be a circus coming to town with all this pink... it's too much pink going on."

Karen later decided to try on the strapless peach gown, which featured a stunning sequined bodice and a ballgown-inspired skirt.

"I'm speechless, I absolutely love it!" Karen said. "And guess what? It's in my baby pink!"

But while she was practically beaming, her loved ones felt the complete opposite.

"The colour... I'm not too sure about it," her mother politely said.

Jonie added: "That colour is just not doing it for me."

Behind closed doors, Jonie didn't hold back as she told the camera: "It's awful. It's just not happening. It's awful."

Karen was clearly fuming with the comments from her loved ones.

"I'm feeling a little bit upset, to say the least. This is definitely going to be harder than I anticipated," she told the cameras.

Eventually, Karen tried on an elegant, glittering light-weight dress which embellished straps – and it was in ivory.

She was met with an abundance of compliments from her loved ones, who said she looked "beautiful."

But there was a big choice Karen would have to make.

Consultant Zoe revealed: "There's something I need to let you know... this gown does come in baby pink as well!"

The four voted unanimously to ditch the pink and go for the ivory, and it was time for Karen to make her big decision.

"I've been open-minded the whole day, so I'm going to go for... baby pink!" she beamed.

"This is my big day. I waited long enough. Yes to the baby pink dress!"
