Russian viral frozen eyelash girl shares summer problem

A girl whose selfie of her frozen eyelashes in Siberia went viral has taken an equally startling picture in the Russian summer.

Anastasia Gruzdeva attracted global attention with her video in January, which saw her eyelashes covered with ice as she walked outside.

She wrote on Instagram it was -42 C that day and had earlier dropped to -46 C.

But it’s not always freezing. This week, the 25-year-old posted a summer snap.

It might be warm but that comes with another hazard - mosquitoes.

She told the Siberian Times she was covered in about 60 biting insects when out on her bike.

‘The picture was made in seconds,. After taking it, I just jumped on the bicycle and rushed away. In fact, you do not feel them so much on your face. More sensitive are the legs, arms and back,” she said.

‘So for a few seconds, I can endure this. Mind you, I have a sudden thought: can they bite me to death?'

The wedding shop worker added her family jokes about her viral video, saying “you're a star now”.

The area is the coldest inhabited place on earth- and also has the biggest difference in temperatures, ranging from -68C to 37C.
