Kyle Sandilands has been facing private heartache amid his settlement with former employer ARN, revealing his mother Pamela, 76, is currently undergoing cancer treatment.

The radio shock jock, 55, made the personal revelation while speaking to reporters outside his home on Wednesday evening, hours after news of the $12.09 million settlement came to light.

“I’m sorry, my mum’s just doing some cancer treatments. I’m just going to pick her up from the doctors,” he told 7News.

“Happy with the deal. Rattled that my mum is not well.”

The radio star didn’t elaborate any further before driving off in his car.

Sandilands previously opened up on-air about his mum Pam raising him and his brother Chris as a solo parent, detailing the domestic violence they all experienced at the hands of his father when he was a young boy.

Sandilands’ father passed away in 2016. While the pair mended their relationship before his death, he said the psychological effects remained.

In 2025, he also spoke of his mother on The Kyle and Jackie O Show after she was scammed out of thousands and issued an urgent warning to listeners.

In a statement to the market, ARN revealed this week it had agreed to pay Sandilands a settlement sum of $12.09 million, with $3 million of the package payable in July 2026 and the balance payable monthly until June 2029.

As part of the settlement, ARN will provide Sandilands with “advertising services on ARN’s partner platforms”, worth $1.5 million over the next three years.

Sandilands said of the agreement: “It means I can get back to work rather than annoying my wife. It’s quite daunting to have that hanging over your head.

“I could’ve dragged it on for like a year and a half. My guys are pretty confident of winning.

“I don’t care if it’s hugely successful or if it just keep the people that were retrenched employed.”

The settlement came after Sandilands took legal action against his former employer, after terminating his $100 million KIIS FM contract earlier this year.

The settlement will now end one of two lawsuits brought against ARN after the end of the Kyle and Jackie O Show in February following an on-air bust up between its two stars.

While Sandilands’ case has settled, the legal action brought by Jackie O’Henderson continues.

Henderson is suing for wrongful termination against ARN, claiming compensation of at least $82.25 million and alleging that her termination was against the Fair Work Act.

She is set to appear in court in August for a hearing, while the trial is due to start in September.
