Kyle Sandilands airs bizarre claim his show being ‘shut down’ by cyber bot attacks

Kyle Sandilands has accused multiple foreign and domestic authorities of using bot networks to “bring down” his new online network Kyle Sandilands Live.

Posting to social media on Wednesday, the former shock jock claimed that his channel had been targeted by a wave of automated cyberattacks, which allegedly spiked after he broadcast interviews with One Nation leader Pauline Hanson and MP Barnaby Joyce.

“What the problem is, is there are bots coming out of Canberra and Russia and China … all trying to shut down our platform,” Sandilands alleged in a video to his followers.

“It all started since we started talking to Pauline and Barnaby the other week and it went on and on and on and on.

“It’s a full attack from multiple countries and our own and I just don’t understand: where is the end game here? What are you trying to do?”

Sandilands offered no evidence to back up his claims beyond his own statements.

He warned that the targeted disruptions would not deter him from voicing his views – particularly on government spending.

“You can put as many bots as you want on this thing – we will not shut down, we will not falter, we are here to stay,” he said.

“We will not shut down, we will not be silenced, we will say whatever we want. Good luck bringing us down you f---ing piece of shit.”

Sandilands’ caption suggested that the automated traffic appeared to have ramped up two weeks prior.

“KS Live is completely unfiltered and alongside the usual fun, chaos and giveaways, we are having the conversations nobody else is brave enough to – and going off the attacks on our site over the last two weeks, it seems some people don’t like that,” the caption read.

In social media clips posted last week, Sandilands praised Senator Hanson as “Australia’s most trusted politician”.

Speaking on his platform back in June, Sandilands informed viewers that he had been working alongside Senator Hanson not long after his departure from the KIIS FM radio show.

“(I’ve) been working on them to get their messaging across, which I think has been well-received,” he said.

Sandilands described Senator Hanson as a “surprise” and praised her as “very inspirational”.

“She’s, like, one of my favourite people now,” he said.

However, One Nation representative James Ashby clarified that Sandilands was not formally working for the party, explaining instead that Senator Hanson had reached out to him after “shit hit the fan”.

Kyle Sandilands Live launched on August 10, following Sandilands’ explosive falling out with longtime co-host Jackie O Henderson and subsequent departure from KIIS FM.

The digital show streams five days a week on his standalone, paywalled app for $99 per year.

After he was dropped from KIIS FM, Sandilands eventually settled with his previous employer ARN for $12 million over the termination of his reported $100 million contract.
