Dedicated fans of The Simpsons may know the back story of every major – and some minor – characters, but they might not know where their voices came from.
While there are hundreds of characters on the show, there are only a handful of voice actors who play them.
Most people will instantly recognise the voices of characters on the show even if, for some ungodly reason, they aren't fans.
They're iconic.
Hank Azaria, who voices a bunch of characters like Carl, Kirk Van Houten and everyone's favourite, the khlav kalash vendor, appeared on The Howard Stern Show yesterday and explained where some of these iconic voices came from.

Azaria's appearance on the radio show was uploaded to YouTube just a few hours ago, and is already going viral.
Nearly 10,000 Simpsons fans hit play to hear where the inspiration for characters like Snake, Moe and Apu came from.
It's brilliant.
It's compelling.
It's been really hard for us to limit the number of Simpsons gifs to a reasonable amount for this article.
