‘Like Yellowstone’: Bridie Carter reveals huge detail about McLeod’s Daughters ‘reboot’

Exclusive: McLeod’s Daughters star Bridie Carter said a reboot of the hit series would be a “no-brainer” as the Aussie drama celebrates 25 years on air.
“I still know how it could work,” the six-time Logie nominee, 55, told nine.com.au before spilling what the exact plot of this dream revival would be.

“You can absolutely see Tess and Nick coming back from Argentina,” she began. “You see where the farm’s at and their offspring, and just starting again.”
“Other shows like Yellowstone have done it and who’ve been so clever with their different incarnations, it’s not that hard,” backed Carter.
The beloved series, which premiered on August 8, 2001, went on to win eight Logie awards from a mammoth 41 nominations across its incredible eight seasons.
Last Sunday night, the show was officially voted the sixth best Aussie TV show of all time at the TV Week 2026 Logie Awards.
As fans online have been begging for a reunion, Carter admitted there was one thing left to do – find someone to back her dream project.
“I really tried, I was 100 per cent behind it, I did everything I could,” she explained. “But the ball’s not in my park and I wish it was.
“I don’t hold that power. However, if the powers that be don’t take that ball and throw it, we’re all just standing here – cast members who absolutely still want to be involved.

“I haven’t given up, I just don’t have the power [to make it happen]. I’m still putting it out there.”
“Maybe on my deathbed I’ll let it go,” Carter laughed. “I just say, it’s never too late until it’s too late.”
And while a reboot or official reunion may not be happening just yet, the actress revealed the cast are very much still in contact.
Which is partly what makes the show so “extraordinary”, even to this day.

“We were all in this amazing adventure together,” she said.
“You’re always connected to each other in a very deep way, regardless of time passing, regardless of when we see each other.”
