Exhausted 54kg dog stretchered off mountain after refusing to finish hike
A 54kg dog has been rescued from a hiking trial in Colorado, US after becoming too tired to finish his walk.
As we learned from a delightful news report by Erin Powell for Coloroado’s 9News, Kato was taking on the challenging Maxwell Falls Trail in Evergreen when he just couldn’t keep going.
And, heck, we have totally been there.
When you’re done, you’re done – not even the prospect of a sweet Intsa pic of you attempting a yoga pose at the top of a mountain is enough to tempt you to keep walking.

The five-year-old great Pyrenees, also known as a Pyrenean mountain dog, knew his limits and decided not to push himself beyond that.
The problem was that Kato was a fair hike to the car.
Unable to convince him to move, his humans contacted help.
The fine folk at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue service rushed to the scene to help the pooped out pooch to safety.
They put Kato on to a stretcher and wheeled him down.
