And if you can ignore the fella's questionable choice of beer for a second, you've got a ripper vid.

This brilliant bloody video was bought to our attention by the Aussie Comedy Facebook page, where it notched up more than 1.5 million views in just a few days.

It's been shared nearly 20,000 times and attracted thousands of comments as people tag their mates to alert them to this fine exemplification of the Australian spirit.

When fishing in Pilbara, one Aussie bloke had a hard-earned thirst and a hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer.

And the best way to crack into that big cold beer is with a crab's claw, obviously.

If you were analysing this clip through the lens of the Year 12 English syllabus – the way we should analyse all things, obviously – you might identify mateship as the key value underpinning this powerful representation of Australian culture.

Because if nothing else, this video a beautiful ode to mates helping mates.
