Christina on the Coast host Christina Anstead reveals moving reason why she has reverted to her maiden name

Christina Anstead filed for divorce from her second husband Ant Anstead last year, but that's not why she's chosen to start using her maiden name Haack again.

The Christina on the Coast and Flip or Flop host opened up about the emotional decision in a lengthy Instagram post accompanied by old family photos.

She explained the change was made in honour of her grandmother.

"My grandma, Mildred 'Biddy' Haack, was my greatest influence growing up. She was always real in a world of so many fakes," she said in the post.

"She loved me hard and always let me know I could achieve anything I wanted to. She spoke life into me when I was down and taught me what unconditional love is. I miss her every single day.

"Taking back the family's last name and know my grandparents are smiling from above."

Christina and Ant, who is also a TV host, announced their separation in September 2020. Ant implied in an Instagram post that ending the marriage was not his choice.

"Anyone who really knows me knows that I don't like to share private matters publicly," he posted. "I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina's decision brings her happiness."

In a separate Instagram post Christina expressed her gratitude for Ant, who she shares son Hudson with.

Christina also has two children from her marriage to her Flip or Flop co-host Tarek El-Moussa. While they split up some time ago, they have continued to work together successfully and are filming Season 10 of the series.

When not hosting Flip or Flop, Christina is busy working on Christina on the Coast. The renovation show follows Christina as she helps clients transform their homes, while also providing an insight into her personal life.

Season 2 of Christina on the Coast, which you can watch on 9Now, shows Christina happily married to Ant and pregnant with Hudson. The next season of the series began filming in August 2020, so will likely feature some reference to her separation to Ant.
