Treat Williams' wife marks first wedding anniversary without husband of 35 years with poignant photos

Treat Williams' wife Pamela Van Sant has officially marked her first wedding anniversary without the late actor after 35 years of marriage.

Taking to the Hair star's Instagram Story overnight, Van Sant shared a series of snaps taken throughout their decades-long relationship, in honour of what would have been their 35th wedding anniversary.

The bittersweet milestone came two weeks after the Everwood star died aged 71 on following a motorcycle accident.

His wife Pamela Van Sant shared a series of throwback snaps overnight marking what would have been their 35th wedding anniversary. Instagram

"Happy anniversary honey! 35 years," Van Sant, 68, wrote over a photo of the couple taken on their June 1988 wedding day.

She also shared more recent photos of the couple posing with their dog, and another one of the two of them smiling and embracing in the snow.

"1st anniversary on location in Bali," Van Sant wrote alongside a 1989 snap of the couple in Indonesia. She also posted a throwback photo of Williams embracing her as the duo posed next to a Christmas tree.

She also shared a snap from their trip to Bali for their first wedding anniversary in 1989. Instagram

It was on June 12 (June 13 in Australia) that Williams' agent of 15 years, Barry McPherson, confirmed news of his death.

"He was killed this afternoon," McPherson told People. "He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off."

"I'm just devastated," the agent continued. "He was the nicest guy. He was so talented."

"He was an actor's actor. Filmmakers loved him. He's been the heart of the Hollywood since the late 1970s," McPherson added.

"He was really proud of his performance this year. He's been so happy with the work that I got him. He's had a balanced career."

Despite local authorities not yet confirming his identity at the time, Jacob Gribble, the fire chief for Dorset, Vermont, told the outlet that the crash happened on Route 30 by Long Trail Auto near Dorset, Vermont.

Gribble also noted that the incident involved a single car and Williams' motorcycle, with investigators under the impression that the driver of the car was turning and didn't see the motorbike.

After the incident, the motorcyclist was the only person hurt and was airlifted to hospital.

Days later, Williams' daughter broke her silence on her father's death with a tribute to the actor.

"This is a pain I have never felt. I am absolutely shattered," Ellie Williams wrote alongside a throwback photo of her parents.

"Thank you to everyone who has sent messages and kept our family in your hearts during this terrible heartbreak," she continued.

Ellie also shared a photo of a blue jacket with her father's name monogrammed on it, as well as a snap from her family's backyard at their Vermont house.

"We're home, Dad," she captioned the Vermont snap.

Despite kicking off his career in the '70s, starring in films such Deadly Hero, The Ritz and The Eagle Has Landed, the star continued acting well into his more recent years.

The veteran actor was well known for his role in teen drama series Everwood which premiered in 2002.

Williams is survived by Van Sant and their two children, 31-year-old son Gill and 24-year-old daughter Ellie.
