Despite quietly getting hitched to his partner of 13 years in August, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson admits he was hesitant to take the plunge once more after a former marriage breakdown.

"My divorce did a number on me," the actor admitted of the 2007 split to his former wife-of-10-years, Dany Garcia.

"I wasn't fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy," he told WSJ Magazine. "But Lauren [Hashian, his new wife] was incredibly patient: 'I love you, you love me, we have this amazing life together — no presh.'"

In the end, The Rock made the commitment to Hashian in Hawaii, surrounded by their daughters, Jasmine, three, and Tiana, one, and just a handful of friends and family.

"We had a full security detail in case there were helicopters," he said of the ceremony that took place at 8am.

"No-one knew," he added. "I was shocked but so grateful. My life is so loud and noisy; the fact that it was quiet was a big win."

The actor admitted it was love at first sight when he met the music producer on set of The Game Plan.

"Within 30 seconds, I thought, 'Wow, this girl's stunning.'"

However, despite the attraction, he wasn't sure it would go anywhere as he was going through a break-up with his wife, with whom he shares a daughter, Simone.

But, he says, fate got in the way.

"At the time, I was going through my break-up with Dany and she [Hashian] was just coming off a big breakup, too," Johnson admitted.

"Ironically, when you're not looking for something, the power of the universe kind of takes over."

Now, Johnson admits he's thrilled to be married. In fact, he's adding two more wedding bands to his rotation, so he's always wearing a ring, even when working out.

"One is from a bull's horn. And the other is from a Tyrannosaurus rex bone," he says of the two new bands that'll accompany his solid gold, diamond-studded traditional band.

"Pretty cool, right?"
