First look at Aussie actress Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West as Princess Diana and Prince Charles in new season of The Crown
Netflix has given fans a first look at Aussie actress Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West in their respective roles as Princess Diana and Prince Charles in the new season of The Crown.
The streaming giant shared the images today on Instagram, releasing two new photos from The Crown's forthcoming fifth season.
"Our new Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki)," the caption read on Netflix's official Instagram account.

Production on the highly-anticipated season started in the UK last month. Season 5 will reportedly focus on the royal couple in the early 1990s, when their marriage hit the rocks and they became estranged.
The Crown is renowned for recasting actors on the show as the series progresses, in an effort to age the characters accordingly without the need for heavy makeup or prosthetics.

Dominic West as Prince Charles in The Crown Season 5. Netflix
This season, Diana and Charles will be played by Debicki and West, who respectively succeed Emma Corrin and Josh O'Connor in the roles.
Corrin and O'Connor both scored Emmy nominations earlier this year for Lead Actress and Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Likewise, Olivia Colman, who played Queen Elizabeth II, was also nominated for Lead Actress. After two seasons in the role, she will be replaced by Imelda Staunton, while Jonathan Pryce replaces Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip.
Debicki — who was born in France but moved to Melbourne with her family when she was five — was thrilled when it was announced last year that she was cast as the Princess of Wales.

"Princess Diana's spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one," she tweeted via The Crown's official Twitter account.
