Sophia Bush reveals she and Ashlyn Harris have been secretly married for more than a year

Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris are married – and have been in secret for over a year.
One Tree Hill star Bush, 44, has revealed in her new memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress, that she and her professional soccer player partner, 40, tied the knot in private during the northern hemisphere summer of 2025.

The couple told Vogue it was a small ceremony with Harris’ children, daughter Sloane, 5, and son Ocean, 4, in attendance.
“The kids were just running and happy, and we picked flowers from the property and our daughter Sloane was holding them. It was so fun for them, because it wasn’t this pressure-filled day that’s too much for young kids,” Harris said.
Bush recalled roasting marshmallows as a family on their wedding night.
“It was so precious, and zero pressure. I will never forget it, and I think wedding days sometimes aren’t like that,” she said.
After the wedding, Bush and Harris travelled around the US to tell their loved ones the happy news.
Now, they wanted to share it publicly for one sweet reason.
“I don’t want to keep sitting on panels or in interviews and being like, ‘My partner’. You’re not my partner, you know? You’re my wife. And it feels so amazing to say that,” Bush said.
Bush has been married twice before, first to her One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray between 2005 and 2006, then to businessman Grant Hughes from 2022 to 2023.

Harris was previously married to fellow soccer star Ali Krieger, with whom she shares her adopted children, Sloane and Ocean, before their split in September 2023.
Bush and Harris confirmed their relationship in April 2024, when Bush came out as queer in an essay for Glamour.
She said they had bonded over their splits before things turned romantic, denying rumours of an affair or any overlap in relationships.
“I didn’t expect to find love in this support system,” Bush wrote. “I don’t know how else to say it other than: I didn’t see it until I saw it.”
