Sex Pistols singer Frank Carter kicked out a male concertgoer who entered a women-only mosh pit during the band’s Colorado show on Friday night.

Carter, 42, called out the man from the stage after spotting him in the designated women-only space, designed to give women a safe area to mosh without being intimidated by men.

“Every time, there’s always a f--king man that tells me, ‘[women] can do this all the f--king time.’ Like, they can’t. They f--king can’t,” Carter shouted as videos of the incident surfaced online.

“Do you know why? Because they walk in the mosh pit and they get a f--king elbow to the head by a f--king idiot!” he added.

The disagreement between the fan and Carter only escalated as the concertgoer appeared to shake his head in disagreement.

“You’re shaking your head like you’re a f--king woman? Are you f--king stupid? It’s not your lived experience, so just shut the f--ku p!” Carter yelled.

“Do you know what, instead of crouching, just f--king leave, bruv!”

Each of Carter’s impassioned statements was met with applause from the rest of the concert crowd.

“How is it so difficult for you to see space made for women at a Sex Pistols gig? Did you decide? No!” Carted shouted.

“They can’t f--king do this whenever. Ask any one of them if they feel safe in every mosh pit!”

Just as Carter seemed ready to move on with the show, he snapped again as the man appeared to roll his eyes.

“Roll your f--king eyes at me. You f--king did this. You did this!” he shouted.

It was then that Carter called on security to officially kick the man out of the venue.

Carter later addressed the controversy in an Instagram post and made it clear he was not changing his stance.

“If you are a man who gets offended by a band making room for a female only mosh pit then you are PART OF THE PROBLEM,” he wrote.

“Stay home, read a book by Bell hooks, come back when kindness, compassion and empathy have landed with you.”

Carter added that “incels, homophobes, misogynists, racists, fascists” were not welcome at Sex Pistols shows.

He clarified that the reserved space was also open to the transgender community.

“When I say a Ladies only mosh pit pit. I of course mean a trans inclusionary space. The space is for people who don’t usually feel safe,” he wrote.

Carter also shared a message he claims he received from the man’s father who apologised for his son’s behaviour.

“Frank - let me apologise that was my idiotic son who decided to make a stand last night in Denver about the womens mosh pit.

“Wasn’t how he was raised, wasn’t what he was taught.”

The father blamed “the misinformation and poison that been spewed into young and old people” for his son’s behaviour.

“I watched the women during their time and saw all of them having so much fun and I wonder years from now what they will do from your encouragement to try something they may have always wanted to but didn’t feel safe trying to do,” he added.

Carter joined the reunited Sex Pistols as its lead singer in 2024, replacing original frontman John Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten. Lydon last performed with the band in 2008.
