'Something I had to grieve for a while': Selena Gomez reveals she can't carry children
Selena Gomez has gotten candid about her hopes to one day start a family of her own.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez, 32, revealed she is unable to carry her own children.
"I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while," she said.

The actress shared that although it isn't exactly the way she "envisioned it," she is still hopeful to one day become a mother through other avenues, adding that her own mother was adopted.
"I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone," she shared.
"But I'm in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me."
In 2013, Gomez was diagnosed with lupus, receiving a kidney transplant due to complications associated with the disease.
Over recent years, she has also become a huge advocate for mental health.
In 2020 she shared her bipolar disorder, two years later revealing that her condition requires her to take medication that could affect her ability to one day carry children.

The Only Murders in the Building star shared that family "is the most important thing to me," detailing that she'd like to start her own by the age of 35.
"It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms," she said of the news that carrying her own children would be too dangerous.
"I'm one of those people. I'm excited for what that journey will look like, but it'll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don't care. It'll be mine. It'll be my baby."
