Sarah Abo celebrates upcoming arrival of baby boy with intimate baby shower

The countdown begins! Sarah Abo has celebrated the upcoming arrival of her first child with an intimate baby shower.

The Today host, who is expecting a baby boy with husband of 13 years Cyrus Moran, shared a glimpse into the celebrations held over the weekend in her home city Melbourne.

Abo was joined by her nearest and dearest friends at the Carlton Wine Room, with the mum-to-be resharing a string of photos from the evening to her personal Instagram.

The 40-year-old was glowing as she stepped out in a sweeping, long-sleeved white winter gown, paired with small black heeled boots and chunky silver accessories.

The slightly sheer dress showed off her growing bump, which Abo cradled during photos with her “besties”.

Gorgeous white flowers decorated the room as the host posed for photos capturing one sweet detail – her baby shower cake decorated in white and pastel blue icing.

Abo shared photos of her stunning cake made by local company The Butcher’s Daughters Cakes. The simple round cake was frosted with pastel blue hearts and the words ‘oh boy!’ in cursive blue icing.

The star revealed she was expecting a boy in March 2026.

“Congratulations beautiful girl @sarahabo Baby Boy incoming,” one friend captioned a photo of the smiling star.

“Celebrating this beautiful woman and her exciting next chapter,” wrote another.

Abo said she “got the memo” as she took a happy snap with Today’s cultural correspondent and media personality Jack Charles, who was one of few guests at the intimate evening.

The two friends created a heart with their hands over Abo’s baby bump. As the celebrations kicked on, guests shared a warm winter menu of pasta, salad and roasted vegetables at the venue.

“Beautiful mumma to be,” wrote another friend about the beaming host.

Abo announced she was expecting in March this year. She revealed the emotional news while on the Today Show, revealing the struggles that she and her husband Cyrus had overcome to reach this point.

“Cyrus and I are expecting a little baby,” she said at the time.

“I know it’s obviously very happy news, but it hasn’t been the easiest journey to get here, which I know a lot of our beautiful viewers out there have been through this and are feeling this right now, because it’s not as easy as some might think pregnancy is.

“It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride, but here we are and it’s getting harder to hide.”

After sharing the heartbreaking news the pair experienced two miscarriages last year, the host revealed she was just past her halfway mark with this pregnancy and confirmed she is expecting a little boy.

“I’m still finding it hard to believe that it’s happening and I will lean in and enjoy it, but a lot of people understand what it’s like to have this cautious optimism,” she admitted at the time.

She also hoped by sharing the news she could help other women who have struggled to conceive.

“It hasn’t been an easy journey to get here,” she revealed. “But it’s getting harder to hide.”

Abo admitted she waited as long as she could before telling her family and friends, but added it was at last “so beautiful to share the news”.

“When you’re a 40-year-old woman and pregnant for the first time this far along, it doesn’t happen overnight.”

“I just want people to know that this takes effort, this takes work and just because you want it, it’s going to happen.

“But Cyrus is so, so happy and he is going to be the most beautiful father and we already love this child so much, he is coming into a world that adores him.”
