Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis confirm engagement: 'She's just been everything to me'
Matildas star Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis are officially engaged.
After weeks of speculation, Mewis, 32, confirmed she and Kerr, 30, are each other's fiancées today in an interview with People.
The Gotham FC midfielder made the comments while discussing how supportive Kerr has been of her during her time with the National Women's Soccer League in the United States.

"My biggest supporter, always listening to me nag and complain all, all of my crazy antics," Mewis told the outlet of Kerr, whom she confirmed is her fiancée.
Mewis recalled how "tough" it had been for herself and the United States national team when they came last during the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup – where Australia's Matildas came fourth – but she had a support system to help her through it.
She said how, alongside her sister – whose name is also Sam – and her parents, Kerr has "just been everything" to her.
Kerr and Mewis have been romantically linked since 2021, after the duo faced off against each other at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

After the American team won against the Matildas, scoring bronze, Kerr and Mewis were pictured sharing an embrace on the field.
Three days later, the couple went Instagram official, with the Chelsea FC striker sharing a shot of herself kissing Mewis to her official Instagram page alongside a "❤️."
The couple first sparked engagement rumours in September, when Mewis was seen out and about – in-person and on she and Kerr's respective Instagram accounts – wearing a giant sparkler on her left ring finger.

Fans started speculating, with rumours ramping up all throughout October as the couple continued sharing snaps of Mewis with her ring, though neither Mewis nor Kerr confirmed the rumours.
