Multiple Aussie actors have been nominated for this year's Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards across both movies and TV.

Following hot on the heels of their Golden Globes win, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Snook are once again up for gongs for their roles in Being the Ricardos and Succession, respectively.

Succession joins Ted Lasso with five nominations each, leading the TV categories.

In the movie categories, House of Gucci and The Power of the Dog lead with a total of three nominations each.

One of those for The Power of the Dog could see Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee also follow his Golden Globe, after he was being nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category alongside Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper and Troy Kotsur.

Smit-McPhee's co-stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst also both nabbed nominations for the Jane Campion film.

Lady Gaga and Jared Leto scored individual nominations for House of Gucci as well as an ensemble nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Other big names to score nominations include Will Smith for movie King Richard and Kate Winslet for mini-series Mare of Easttown.

However, Martin and Short's co-star, Selena Gomez, was among the snubs of the nominations. While the television nominations were slightly more predictable, there were a fair share of upsets, including Issa Rae failure to earn a nomination for her work in the critically acclaimed final season of Insecure.

Also overlooked in the movie categories was actress Kristen Stewart, who was considered to be a front runner for her shape-shifting turn as Princess Diana in Spencer, failed to earn a nomination.

King Richard standout Aunjanue Ellis and Belfast's Jamie Dornan were also snubbed.

At the same time, Ruth Negga, who has been largely overlooked for her subtle work in Passing by other awards bodies, scored a nomination for best supporting actress, while Bradley Cooper earned a nod for his fiery turn as producer Jon Peters in Licorice Pizza — a performance that was heavy on impact, but light on screen time.

The nominations were announced virtually by Vanessa Hudgens and Rosario Dawson but the award's show is set to return in person at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Sunday, February 27 (Monday, February 28 AEDT).

This year's SAG Awards will also honour Helen Mirren with the lifetime achievement award.
