Ronan Keating joins The Voice contestant onstage to sing the Notting Hill song 'that made Julia Roberts cry'

Choosing to sing a Ronan Keating song in front of Ronan Keating himself was a bold move for 26-year-old Ace Avenue, one of the first contestants in The Voice season five's blind auditions last night.

That gamble didn't quite pay off as none of the coaches turned their chairs (insert sad-face here).

However, Ronan gave the aspiring singer a memorable consolation prize for attempting his 2000 hit from the Notting Hill soundtrack, 'When You Say Nothing At All'. Yep, Ronan got up onstage to indulge his fan with a duet of that hit – much to Ace's surprise.

Ronan also recalled how Notting Hill's star Julia Roberts told him she cried when she first heard the song in the rom-com classic. Oh, the memories.
