Rod Stewart speaks out after fans express fears for his health: 'I'm not dying'
Sir Rod Stewart has clarifying he is "not dying" after cancelling three shows due to illness.
The British musician cancelled shows in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and California after contracting strep throat and testing positive to COVID.
At the time, he told The Sun his "days are numbered" while he recovers.
"Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me," he said.

"I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.
"Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there."
Following fan concern about his use of the phrase "days are numbered", he has now told The Sun he is not dying.

"When I said 'My days are numbered,' it was purely in jest. Aren't everybody's days numbered?" he clarified.
"I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know."
In his original Instagram post, which received thousands of likes, Stewart said he was "desperately sorry" and "absolutely gutted" over the cancellation.
"I'm desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration," Stewart began.
"Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me."
"I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused."

Stewart is due back on stage next month and will reportedly return to Las Vegas next month.
The musician's wife Penny Lancaster has been keeping fans updated on their movements on Instagram.

They recently attended a family holiday in the Mediterranean.
"Another amazing family holiday together (a few were sadly missed) in the med bonding, healing, love and laughter," she shared alongside aphoto of the couple with their extended family.
The family were also together on June 3 for the wedding of Stewart's son Liaam.
"Magical day, filling our hearts with love and pride in celebrating the marriage of our Liam and Nicole."
