Mammoth crowds have flocked to venues across Paris to watch Olympic Games Paris 2024 - and, it seems, to catch a glimpse of Team USA's biggest supporter, Snoop Dogg.

Fans were thrilled to spot him on the big screen at Bercy Arena as he took in the men's basketball on day 11, with the rapper showing off a little shimmy as the crowd applauded.

The rapper has been a fixture at major events across the last 11 days of competition, turning up front row at everything from equestrian to the women's artistic gymnastics.

He's technically working in Paris as a correspondent for NBC, but fans have been far more invested in his Team USA-themed outfits and celebrity antics than anything else.

"I entered the building today with Snoop Dogg and there were just people with their mobile phones out, capturing the moment of Snoop Dogg being in their presence," one commentator revealed during the USA v Brazil men's basketball match.

"It is quite the existence that he leads. He's everywhere at these Olympics."

Of course, Snoop Dogg - whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. - isn't just at Paris 2024 for fun.

The Drop It Like It's Hot rapper is reportedly being paid a whopping US$500,000 a day (approx. $780,000 AUD) to promote the games.

Across 19 days of events, that would total a payday of about $14,820,000 - at least according to venture investor Henry McNamara's claims.

He claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that overheard an NBC executive reveal Snoop's salary, writing, "Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics.

"From Gin and Juice to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world."

But Snoop's Olympic duties started long before the opening ceremony in Paris.

A month before he even landed in France's capital, the rapper attended the US track and field team trials and tried his hand at pole vaulting too.

He then met with Team USA athletes at the team's welcome experience on the ground in Paris before competition began, styling matching tracksuits with the Olympians in attendance.

And right before the Olympics began, he was given the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch down Saint-Denis in Paris.

Snoop is expected to continue popping up at events for Paris 2024 until the games come to an end with the closing ceremony on August 11.
