Sharon Osbourne breaks social media silence following Ozzy Osbourne's death, responding to tributes

Sharon Osbourne has returned to social media following the death of Ozzy Osbourne.

The TV personality commented on tributes to her husband of 40 years, as new details of the 76-year-old's final days come to light.

Sharon, 72, responded to her former The Talk co-host Sara Gilbert, who had posted a photo with Ozzy from 2015 when he visited the set of the US chat show.

"Sara he loved you! Always Sharon," the Osbourne matriarch responded to the post.

Gilbert replied, telling the widow: "@sharonosbourne love you all more than you know".

Sharon also responded to a tribute from English musician Gavin Rossdale, who shared a tribute to the heavy metal icon.

"RIP OZZY - a great man -a true legend - I met Ozzy through Jack just a few times but he was so warm and kind and funny and I love that memory," Rossdale wrote in a post on Instagram.

"Sending much love to his family at this difficult time. Rest in power."

Sharon replied simply with the comment: "Bless you".

She offered a similar comment to BBC Radio1 DJ Jack Saunders, who got emotional when announcing the death on-air.

"Jack thank you for your tribute to Ozzy tonight, bless you," Sharon wrote.

Ozzy died on Tuesday after a six-year battle with Parkinson's disease - he was diagnosed in 2019 and made the diagnosis public the following year.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance confirmed a crew was dispatched from RAF Benson in Wallingford, Oxfordshire to the Osbournes' home in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire to provide "advanced critical care".

According to multiple reports, specialist paramedics tried for two hours to save the rockstar's life but were unable to do so.

Last known footage of the Black Sabbath frontman was posted by daughter Kelly Osbourne on social media just two days before his death.

The clip showed him eating his breakfast while watching something on a tablet computer and wearing headphones but he was still able to hear his daughter talk to him.

"Dadda, say good morning," Kelly instructed.

Obediently, the 76-year-old leaned forward and said "good morning" clearly with a little grin not betraying his "fragile health" of late.

The rocker was sitting around the table with his daughter, his grandson Sidney and his lesser-known son Louis Osbourne, from his first marriage to Thelma Riley in 1971.

Ozzy and Riley also have a daughter, named Jessica. The rocker and Sharon had three kids of their own - Kelly, Aimee and Jack.

Ozzy's death came just weeks after his final concert, Back To The Beginning, held at Birmingham's Villa Park.
