North West confirms first headline tour has been scrapped

North West has confirmed that her first headline tour with rapper Molly Santana has been called off, with multiple scheduled dates disappearing from ticketing sites.

The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had planned to join Santana on the 14-date Kimokawaii Tour, which was set to begin in Dallas on August 5.

But several concerts have since been listed as cancelled, while others have been removed altogether.

North broke the news to fans in a message posted to her Instagram stories.

“I was really excited to go on tour w molly santana sadly it isn’t happening anymore but i have something special for u guys see ya soon,” she shared.

She didn’t explain why the tour had been scrapped, although she hinted another project is on the way.

The Dallas concert is now listed as cancelled on Ticketmaster and no longer appears on the House of Blues Dallas website.

Ticketmaster has also marked the Toronto performance on August 17 as cancelled, while the scheduled Los Angeles show at The Novo has been removed from AXS.

Santana also addressed the cancellations, apologising to fans who had already bought tickets.

“To everyone who bought tickets to the tour i sincerely apologize i know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard earned money planning to be there.”

The tour page has also disappeared from Santana’s official website.

The performances had been announced in June and were due to visit cities including Houston, New York, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix and Atlanta.

North took her latest step into the music industry this May with her debut EP, N0rth4evr, and its accompanying music video.

She has previously appeared on stage with her dad, performing during his concerts in Mexico City and Los Angeles, and the pair also released the song Piercing On My Hand together.

North also featured on FKA Twigs’ album EUSEXUA last year, performing a verse in Japanese on the track Childlike Things.

Earlier this year she signed with independent entertainment company Gamma, led by former global creative director of Apple Music Larry Jackson.

According to Rolling Stone, she had already begun recording under the new deal, with North and Kardashian later spotted leaving a late-night studio session in Los Angeles.
