Nikki Bella says ex John Cena reached out after she gave birth to son Matteo

Nikki Bella and John Cena are the friendliest exes.

Bella, 36, revealed her ex-fiancé, Cena, 43 — who she was engaged to for 11 months — called her after she gave birth to her son Matteo with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev.

"So with the baby, he reached out to Brie and I both," Bella told Us Weekly.

"We haven't had an individual conversation in gosh, I don't know how long, but it was very short and sweet!"

Bella's twin sister Brie Bella welcomed her second child, Buddy, a day after she gave birth on July 31.

The former pro-wrestler also discussed how she hopes her and Cena will continue to share a special bond.

"John and I will be tied forever … All I've ever wanted was for him to be happy," she told the outlet.

In 2018, Bella and Cena split weeks before their wedding. The former couple ended their relationship because of their different views on having children.

"Overall, we did have such an incredible relationship, it was just two people that wanted two different lives," Bella said on Maria Menounos' show Better Together in May this year. "We were trying so hard to make it one."

Meanwhile, Cena got married to Shay Shariatzadeh in October this year.
