Country star Morgan Wallen breaks his silence after flipping piano on stage

Country singer Morgan Wallen has spoken out for the first time after he flipped and broke a piano live on stage.

The 33-year-old was performing in Denver during his Still The Problem tour last Friday when he experienced issues with the upright piano, before he pushed it over causing the audience to gasp as pieces of wood broke off.

The two-time Grammy nominee broke his silence with a TikTok video, that’s amassed over one million views in less than 24 hours.

“Hey, I just want you guys to know that right now this piano is working,” Wallen quipped as he inched closer to the camera.

“And that’s what they told me last night.”

“Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano,” the singer captioned the video which appeared to be filmed the night after the piano incident and Denver show.

Wallen was performing his track Sand In My Boots during his Friday show when he experienced technical issues with his piano.

He then decided to push the piano and its bench over, with pieces of wood breaking off.

The audience gasped as the piano seemingly broke, before the singer walked off and continued the song a cappella.

Videos of the on-stage incident quickly circulated online with some fans encouraging his behaviour.

“Flip it again. HE DONT NEED NO PIANO. He CAN sing! 👏” one fan commented at the time.

“Rockstars break instruments on stage all the time. Smashing guitars and stuff. Go off, Morgan! 🎹🤠” another pointed out.

Others were shocked by the singer’s behaviour as one fan added: “I love his music but come on. Glad he didn’t hit anyone with it. Geez, that’s professional and mature 🙄.”

Wallen started his music career when he competed on The Voice in 2014, though he was eliminated in the playoffs.

The Last Night singer has since been nominated for two Grammys and has recently won Best Male Country Artist at the 2026 American Music Awards.
