Missy Higgins to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame
Beloved Australian recording artist Missy Higgins will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame during the 2024 ARIA Awards on November 20.
The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) shared the news earlier today.
The singer-songwriter is being recognised for her 20-plus year career and major influence on Australian music.

ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd spoke of the "unique mark" left by Higgins on "not only the industry, but Australia and the world."
"Missy is the absolute epitome of this. We couldn't be happier to be welcoming one of Australia's most loved and admired artists, Missy Higgins, into the ARIA Hall of Fame," she added.

Higgins said she feels "honoured and grateful" to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
"So many artists I love and admire are in the ARIA Hall Of Fame so it feels a bit surreal to be joining them," she said.

"This year has already been really special, now this is going to make it even more memorable."
Higgins' debut album The Sound of White was released in 2004 with hit single Scar topping the charts upon its release.

The 12-time platinum album spent a total of seven weeks at the top of the ARIA Album Charts.
This made her one of the highest-selling singer-songwriters of her era.
Her follow up album On A Clear Night was released in 2007 and and quickly took out the number one spot on the ARIA Album Charts.

This was followed by The Ol' Razzle Dazzle in 2012, which also claimed the number one spot.
Later album releases Oz, which hit the charts in 2014, and Solastagia, out in 2018, cracked the top three of the ARIA Album Charts.
Higgins has won nine ARIA Awards throughout her career and has been nominated 25 times.

The singer-songwriter will release her next album, The Second Act, on September 6, to coincide with her biggest Australian tour in 20 years.
The ARIA Awards will be broadcast from Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on November 20 from 5 pm, only on Stan. The live stream will be followed by a special presentation on Channel 9.
