Miranda Tapsell welcomes first child with husband James Colley

Miranda Tapsell has given birth to her first child!

The Aussie actress, 34, welcomed a daughter, Grace Birri-Pa Purnarrika Colley, with her husband, comedian James Colley.

"Christmas has come early for us as we welcome our Grace Birri-Pa Purnarrika Colley," Tapsell announced via Instagram this morning.

"Birri-Pa is Larrakia for Butterfly, Purnarrika is Tiwi for Water Lily."

"Grace has entered the world adored by her mum and dad, as well as all her aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and so many more," she added. "We are extremely grateful, overjoyed and so, so tired 💕."

Friends and fans of the couple shared their excitement while congratulating the happy couple on the news.

The Top End Wedding star announced her pregnancy back in May, sharing a sonogram image to her Instagram account with the caption, "Our very exciting production due 2021."

Tapsell, who has also starred in Love Child and The Sapphires, co-wrote and produced the 2019 film Top End Wedding.

The actress and Gruen writer tied the knot in a ceremony at Panorama House in Sydney's Wollongong in December 2018. The pair met via Twitter after several exchanges.

Tapsell said she was drawn to his sense of humour and from the moment they met there was a "strong connection"

"We both have a sense of humour," she told Body and Soul. "He's great at seeing the funny side of a situation and getting me out of a bad mood. He's a cheeky little bugger and I love it."
