‘Traumatised’: Minnie Driver shares health update after ‘near-death’ crash in Paris

Minnie Driver said she is left feeling “traumatised” after the actress was involved in a horror car crash earlier this month.

The Oscar nominee, 56, confessed she was struggling with the “near-death experience” as she shared a candid recovery update with fans.

“Paris update. It sucks being traumatised,” The Good Will Hunting star began in an Instagram video filmed on the streets of Paris this week.

“Like, you look like you’re OK… and you keep showing up, but you’re just not OK,” she admitted.

“And now I’m in this club, this near-death experience club, and I really don’t like clubs.”

The Emily in Paris actress, who was hospitalised and in a neck brace after the accident in August, said she didn’t mean for the video to be “such a depressing update” as she smiled to the camera.

But the shock experience has brought on a “profound sadness” she said, as the star continues to process what happened.

“And I’m sure it really is just time passing but trying to find meaning in the ‘accidental’ is driving me absolutely nuts,” she continued.

“I’m here, and I’m very grateful, and I guess that’s it but any tips on trauma... any other tips you might have, let me know.”

As she captioned the video, Driver clarified she didn’t mean for there to be a “but” after expressing how grateful she was.

She wanted to let fans know she is truly grateful to “be here” and while she’s found it hard, the actress is back at work with full support of her cast and crew.

The star sent her love to her nurses and anyone who kindly reached out after the accident.

Driver and friend Ben Homewood were involved in a major car accident in Paris on August 7.

“We somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn’t walk out of it, we crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive,” she revealed at the time in a video from her bed in London clad in a neck brace.

The actress revealed the crash happened “on a country road in the middle of France” leaving her with a sprained neck.

“To be very clear, it was not our fault ... a car didn’t stop at an intersection and was going at speed, and we just T-boned it,” she said.

While Driver said she was lucky not to be too physically hurt, she admitted she’s “in a sort of shock” and cries “all the time” but believes a differently designed small car would have crumpled on impact.

“But I’m gonna heal and the reason that I’m not dead, honestly, is the car that we were driving.”

The actress, who suffered a sprained neck in the incident, thanked passersby who helped them before the ambulance arrived.

“My brain keeps replaying the crash which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing. Weeping too, feels good and helpful,” she said at the time.
