Minnie Driver reflects on finding love in her fifties: 'I would've been fine if he had never shown up, but I'm glad he did'

Minnie Driver has reflected on finding love in her fifties.

The British-American star, 55, who recently scored a role in hit show Emily in Paris, has made some rare comments on her relationship with Addison O'Dea, a filmmaker and writer.

Speaking with Grazia, the actress said she found contentment to be alone and single before striking up a romance with O'Dea – and it's the advice she would give others for later in life.

''1,000 per cent embrace the notion that you're never going to meet anyone ever again. Sit with it. Become celebratorily OK with it," she said.

"I would've been fine if Addison had never shown up, though I'm so glad he did.

"But we've got to get over the idea that we are incomplete if we don't have a man. It's not true.''

The pair reportedly started dating back in 2019 and they are believed to be engaged.

In a Valentine's Day tribute to her partner last year, Driver wrote in an Instagram post: "Don't know how we possibly found each other, but I'll never stop being grateful for that magic. ♥️🐙."

Throughout her time in the spotlight, the Hollywood star has dated the likes of Matt Damon and Josh Brolin.

She met Damon on the set of 1997 film Good Will Hunting and they dated for about a year.

Brolin, meanwhile, is Driver's ex-fiancé, and she once had some stinging words about their union and seems glad they called off their wedding.

"The one time I was engaged it would have been, I think, the biggest mistake of my life," she told The Sunday Times in an interview.
